PRECISION METERS
The Infinity EVO Woltmann Class B Water Meter complies with all requirements of the Legal Metrology Act (2014), SANS 1529-1: 2019 and the National Regulator for Compulsory (N.R.C.S.) In addition, the meters comply with Directive 2014/32/EU (MID) (Annex MI-001) and European Standard ISO4064.
Thank you for choosing the Precision Meters Infinity EVO Class B Woltmann water meter.
This device has undergone thorough testing and verification at Precision Meters’ SANAS Accredited Verification Laboratory, conducted by a certified Verification Officer, to ensure it meets SANS 1529-1:2019 Class B specifications. It is supplied in full working order.
As a precision instrument, the water meter features exacting tolerances between its moving parts and is designed exclusively for measuring potable water. Exposure to grit, sand, or other suspended solids can cause permanent damage to the meter. Such damage incurred during installation is not covered by the Precision Meters warranty.
To ensure proper installation, it is imperative that the installer maintains cleanliness throughout the process. Thoroughly flush the pipeline before installing the meter.
The Infinity EVO Class B water meter is approved by the NRCS for horizontal installation only. It must not be installed vertically or on its side.
We strongly recommend installing an inline strainer upstream of the meter to prevent clogs and potential damage from debris such as sticks and stones. Note: Strainers are sold separately.
Ensure that the meter is installed with a straight length of pipe free of valves, bends, or fittings equal to 10 times the diameter of the meter upstream and 5 times the diameter downstream.
Note: This meter is designed for cold water with a maximum operating temperature of 50°C. Exceeding this temperature can cause irreversible damage. Avoid soldering or applying heat near the meter during installation, as heat can travel through the pipe and damage the meter's internals.
Prevent installation in areas subject to vibration, shock, cavitation, water hammer, or rapid valve operations, as these conditions can affect meter accuracy and cause damage.
Ensure that the 2 pipe sections at the metering point align correctly and that there is no excessive mechanical stress on the meter body, as improper installation can cause irreparable damage.
To prevent freezing, install the meter at least one meter away from potential freezing points, such as standpipes, to avoid water freezing and potentially bursting the meter.

The meter size is clearly marked on the body of the unit. You can also refer to the product specification sheet or use the flow rate table to confirm the correct size for your application.
Yes. Using a meter that is too large may under-register low flow rates, while a meter that is too small can cause pressure drops and increase wear on internal components.
The pipe size should match the meter size, which typically ranges from 50mm to 100mm for this model. Correct sizing ensures accurate measurement and prevents pressure issues.
The Infinity EVO Woltmann Water Meter is designed for flexible installation and does not require upstream or downstream straight pipe sections (U0-D0). This means you can install it without needing long straight runs before or after the meter.
“m³” stands for cubic meters, which is the unit used to measure water volume. One cubic meter equals 1,000 litres.
The meter is rated for cold potable water up to 50°C and can handle a nominal working pressure of 1600 kPa (16 Bar).
Yes, the Infinity EVO Woltmann Water Meter can be installed in both horizontal and vertical (upward) positions without affecting performance.
