PRECISION METERS
Precision Meters’ Automatic Meter Infrastructure (AMI) gives you a clearer view of water consumption without relying on manual meter readings.
The system connects to compatible pulse-output water meters and sends usage data to the Precision platform, where it can be viewed remotely through graphs, reports and alerts. It is suited to properties and organisations that need better visibility over water use, leak detection and detailed billing information across one or more meters.
AMI is a smart water metering solution that collects data from compatible pulse-output water meters and sends it to the Precision platform for remote monitoring.
A compact data transmitter connects to the meter and communicates through LoRaWAN or Sigfox networks. The meter data is then processed and converted into clear usage information that can be viewed through the platform and Precision Smart Meter App.
The result is a more practical way to monitor water use across a property, site or group of meters without having to physically check each meter.
The system follows a simple data path:
Water meter → network → secure database → Precision platform (path for ultrasonic)
The water meter records consumption and produces a pulse output. The AMI transmitter collects that data and sends it through the available network to a secure database.
The Precision platform then turns the raw data into usable information, including daily and monthly consumption, graphs, alerts and billing reports.
This gives users a central view of water consumption and makes it easier to identify changes in usage over time.
AMI is suited to sites where water usage needs to be monitored more closely or across multiple meters.
Typical applications can include:

The Precision Smart Meter App gives users mobile access to their water usage data.
The app displays monthly and yearly water consumption and provides access to usage information from a connected device. The system also supports alerts and leak identification, giving users a quicker way to respond when water consumption moves outside expected patterns.
For users managing multiple meters, the Precision platform provides a central place to monitor connected devices rather than checking each meter individually.
Yes, the AMI system is designed to receive data from compatible pulse-output water meters. The existing meter therefore needs to support pulse output.
The purpose of the system is to send meter data remotely to the Precision platform, reducing the need to physically check compatible meters for routine usage information.
Yes. Leak detection is a main feature of the system. Usage alerts can also help users identify unexpected changes in consumption.
Yes. Each meter has a transmitter and all meters communicate to one central dashboard where you can view all meters.
Yes. Detailed billing reports are a key feature, and the platform displays usage and cost information.
