Installation Instructions

Thank you for purchasing the high-quality 15mm Above Ground Water Meter Box.
The following installation steps will guide you through the proper process to ensure optimal performance and compliance with the warranty conditions provided by Precision Meters.

Step 1: Protecting the Meter Box
Ensure the water meter box is protected from direct sunlight after installation. This can be achieved by using a housing or meter box cover.

Step 2: Sizing
Make sure the meter box is appropriately sized for the pipe dimensions or flow rate.

Step 3: Flushing Pipework Before Installation
Flush all pipework to eliminate any debris or sand, ensuring a clean pipeline.

Step 4: Orientation
Install the meter box in a manner that allows for easy access and visibility, keeping the opening upright.

Step 5: Avoiding Pressure
Ensure no pressure is applied to the box during installation due to misaligned pipes or excessive vibration, as this may lead to damage.

Step 6: Fitting Installation
Avoid over-tightening fittings or using excessive sealing materials, which can result in leaks.

Step 7: Thread Treatment
Do not use hemp on the inlet or outlet threads. Instead, opt for thread tape or PTFE tape, preferably with tailpieces.

Step 8: Soldering Precautions
Avoid soldering near the meter box to prevent damage from heat, especially if brass fittings are involved.

Step 9: Water Type
Ensure the meter box is used only for cold water applications and not in hot water pipelines.

Step 10: Appropriate Usage
Utilise the meter box exclusively for clean potable water to avoid damage and inaccuracies.

Step 11: Handling Care
Handle the meter box with care as it is a precision instrument. Avoid dropping or damaging the box.

Step 12: Thread Fittings
Refrain from using tapered thread fittings; instead, use tailpieces.

Step 13: Additional Protection
Install a strainer before the meter box to protect it from sand or foreign debris.
